Gun Owners of America Endorses Tim Griffin for Congress

Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund is pleased to announce the endorsement of Tim Griffin for Congress in Arkansas’ Second District.

GOA-PVF supported Tim Griffin in 2010, and he has lived up to his stated commitment to fight for the Second Amendment.Rep. Griffin has cosponsored several pieces of legislation to roll back unconstitutional gun laws, and he is also a strong supporter and cosponsor of a concealed carry reciprocity bill (H.R. 2900) that keeps the federal government from undermining GOA’s efforts at passing “constitutional concealed carry” at the state level.

And in a time of widespread economic hardship, Rep. Griffin authored a bill to protect firearms in federal bankruptcy proceedings.

The Protecting Gun Owners in Bankruptcy Act of 2011 (H.R. 1181) amends federal bankruptcy law to add personal firearms to the list of permissible exemptions.  Under this bill, individuals would be able to retain up to $3,000 worth of personal firearms during bankruptcy proceedings.

“At this time of economic uncertainty, we need to protect the rights of people to protect themselves,” said Rep. Griffin.  This legislation “would ensure that those who find themselves in dire economic circumstances don’t have to give up their ability to defend their family from home invasion or lose a piece of their family heritage.”
